Think luffas come from the sea? Surprise! These handy household sponges are actually a type of squash you can grow right here in Ontario. Join us this fall at the GRG Tamworth Community Garden for a hands-on workshop where you’ll learn how to grow Luffas (also known as Loofahs), harvest them, and transform them into sponges you can use around the house.
It’s a little messy, a lot of fun, and a perfect way to spend a crisp autumn day.
After the workshop, stick around for a Seed Packing Party. We’ll be packaging up all recently donated seeds to help re-stock the Tamworth Seed Library, and every helping hand makes a difference.
Dress warmly and wear clothes you don’t mind getting a little dirty.
