In past years, the GrassRoots Growers have offered two annual $500 bursaries for full-time students in the Sustainable Agriculture Co-op Program at Fleming College, Lindsay campus, and the University of Guelph.

This initiative was chosen as a way to advance our goals of encouraging local and organic food production, by encouraging young farmers interested in ecologically sound growing practices. We feel that this project will have a long-term impact.

In past years, the award has been made possible by funds raised at our annual May plant sale and other local initiatives.
